PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

As we enter the first week of June and the final stretch of the 2025–2026 school year, we encourage all of our Spartans to “lock-in” and stay focused. The end of the school year brings many exciting events, celebrations, activities, finals, and transitions, but it is also an important time for students to continue giving their best effort. Please help encourage your child to finish the school year strong by staying engaged, attending regularly, and remaining focused on their goals and responsibilities.

As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety and in fulfillment of New York State requirements, we will conduct two additional emergency response drills next week. As always, our faculty and staff will work to ensure these drills are handled in a calm, supportive, and developmentally appropriate manner.

We would also like to remind families that all students are expected to remain in attendance through the conclusion of the school year. Students in grades 7–12 are expected to attend school through June 16th, which is the final day of final exams, as well as the morning of June 26th for our 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony and end-of-year activities. Students in grades K–6 are expected to remain in attendance through the final day of school.

Please also note that district-issued iPad collection will occur at the end of the school year. Families can help support a smooth collection process by ensuring devices, chargers, and cases are returned in good condition and by encouraging students to keep track of all materials during these final weeks of school.

Finally, during this season of awards ceremonies, celebrations, and recognition, please encourage your child to celebrate the success of others, take pride in their own best effort, and remain focused on becoming the very best version of themselves. At Sharon Springs, we believe that character, perseverance, kindness, and growth matter just as much as achievement. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support.

K-5 TALENT SHOW INFORMATION

We are excited to announce the K-5 Talent Show, taking place on the morning of Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

If a child wants to perform, please note that they must attend at least one or two of our after-school practice sessions. Ms. Davenport will work with individual parents/students to schedule a small number of acts on any particular day in order to give each one the necessary attention and also to cut down on wait time. Students will need a note of permission, indicating who will be providing transportation home as there is no late bus run.

The last rehearsal is planned for Tuesday, June 23 during school hours with teacher permission. Hopefully, this whole experience will be both a challenge and a delight for the children!

Please email Laura Davenport at ldavenport@sharonsprings.org with information and questions.
