on May 18, 2026

8 members at the FFA New York State convention

Six members of the SSCS FFA chapter participated in the 101th New York State FFA Convention May 13-16 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

Joining more than 3,000 members and guests from across the state were SSCS student attendees Morgan Lynk and Alivia Smith, who served as committee members and delegates for our chapter. Maya Korona, Alyssa Smith, Madison Lynk and Tatianna Islip attended workshops and sessions with SSCS Teacher Dan Cornwell. SSCS FAA Advisor/Teacher Anne Allen was the coordinator of the state level Jr. People in Agriculture Contest. Our delegates participated in meetings, while our Sr. Quiz Bowl Team competed. Though knocked out early in the contest, the team showed great spirit and energy.

Members also attended educational sessions and were treated to a keynote speaker from the “Deadliest Catch” TV series. In addition to the convention, SSCS participants visited the Syracuse Zoo, Niagara Fall and the Maid of the Mist tour, and attended a Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball game. Our FFA members would like to thank everyone for their support this year and are setting goals for themselves for the years to come.

FFA is a youth organization that prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Way to go Spartans!
