SSCS inducted 20 students into its prestigious Middle School Honor Society May 20 during a ceremony in the school auditorium.

The Middle School Honor Society is the premier organization for middle school students, honoring those who excel in scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Managed by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASP), it challenges students to develop further through active school and community involvement.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Make Honor Roll each of the first three quarters
  • Demonstrate leadership in the classroom
  • Show positive citizenship on a regular basis
  • Exhibit service to the school community
  • Regularly give best effort, control behavior and accept responsibility

A Community Effort

The induction of these young students is a point of immense pride for the Sharon Springs community. Throughout the ceremony, speakers expressed deep gratitude to the parents, guardians, and teachers who have supported these students along their educational journeys.

By fostering an environment that encourages both intellectual growth and strong moral character, the Sharon Springs community continues to lay a solid foundation for the future success of its youth. Attendees were encouraged to continue supporting these bright young leaders as they transition toward high school and beyond.

As the new inductees proudly accepted their certificates, the morning concluded with applause, photographs, and a shared sense of optimism for the future of Sharon Springs Central School.
