PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
As we approach the end of the first quarter next Friday, October 31, we encourage all families to take a few moments to check in on your child(ren)’s progress on Schoology (your child should be able to show you how to do this on their iPad).
If you have any questions or concerns about grades, assignments, or classroom performance, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher(s). Open communication and collaboration between home and school are key to helping every Spartan reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Mr. Yorke

UPCOMING HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES/MORNING PROGRAM
Looking ahead, since Halloween falls on the last Friday of October, we will be combining our Morning Program with the Traditional Halloween Parade on that day.
- Friday, October 31, 2025:
- Morning Program: 1:30 p.m. (in the auditorium)
- Halloween Parade: 2:05 p.m. (immediately following Morning Program)

We look forward to celebrating this fun SSCS tradition together!

COLD WEATHER REMINDER
As the temperatures drop, please be sure that elementary students come to school with proper outerwear for recess: coats, hats, and gloves are important for outdoor play. If your family is in need of cold-weather clothing, please reach out confidentially to Mrs. Keaney at mkeaney@sharonsprings.org or by calling the school. We’re happy to help.
UNDERSTANDING BULLYING AND BUILDING RESILIENCE
According to NYSED, bullying is defined as repeated, intentional behavior (verbal, physical, or social)  that causes physical or emotional harm to another person and involves an imbalance of power. SSCS takes all reports of bullying seriously and responds promptly to protect and support our students.
At the same time, we also want to teach the value of resilience; the ability to recover, adapt, and grow stronger through challenges. We want every student to feel empowered, not powerless; to advocate for themselves respectfully, to seek help when needed, and to remember that one difficult moment or hurtful comment does not define them.
Together, by practicing safety, showing kindness, and nurturing resilience, we continue to make Sharon Springs Central School a place where every student feels secure, respected, and valued.

🗳️ A Note from the Class of 2026:
This year, we’re flipping the script! Due to the rising cost of beef and the fact that it’s an off-year election (so no need to “roast” any candidates), we’re switching things up from our traditional roast beef dinner. We’re bringing the BBQ heat instead — all to help the Class of 2026 raise money for their Senior Class Trip.
🐔 Pulled pork and BBQ chicken never looked so electable! 🍖
