HAPPY SPRING BREAK!

Student Focus

We wish all of our students and their families a wonderful, safe and refreshing spring break.

Please note that the end of the third quarter is April 12 (the Friday after break). With that said, the school break can be a great time for students to get caught up on any work that is owed, and/or to prepare for the final quarter of the school year. For students in grades 6 – 12, please use Schoology to stay up-to-date on all assignments and grades.

Principal’s Message

IMPORTANT UPDATE: School will not be in session on Monday, April 8th.

We apologize for the inconvenience this adjustment may cause for families. Student safety is the district’s first priority and therefore the decision was made to use an emergency closing day for Monday, April 8, 2024.

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will be visible across portions of North America, presenting a valuable educational experience.  This rare phenomenon will cast its shadow across the United States, with Sharon Springs finding itself near the path of the totality. The eclipse is expected to begin in Schoharie County at 2:10pm and peak at 3:20pm

Please note: It is crucial to remember that looking directly at the sun, even during an eclipse, can cause permanent eye damage. Special eclipse glasses will be provided to all students at the end of the day on Thursday, March 28. We hope families are able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Welcome Casino Night!

Welcome to a night at The Casino! The Class of 2025 is hosting the Junior Prom this year on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 7-11 pm in the Coach Doig Gym. Tickets will be on sale during the high school lunch period and can be purchased until April 19. Any student in grades 9-12 is welcome to attend. The cost of a ticket is $25 for an individual and $50 per couple. Formal attire is a requirement, so dress to impress!

Let’s Get Ready for Kindergarten

The data from this survey will help the district plan for your child’s educational needs and class sizes for the fall. Even if you are undecided at this time about enrolling your child, please complete the form and state that in the comment section so we can have an accurate census record.
