PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

As we settle into the fourth quarter, we wanted to circle back with a few friendly reminders as we continue this busy (and exciting!) time of year.

By now, report cards should be home and, hopefully, have sparked a few good conversations at the dinner table or on the ride home. If you haven’t had a chance yet, we encourage you to take a few minutes to review grades and comments with your child(ren). And as always, if something raises a question or you’d simply like more insight, please reach out to your child(ren)’s teacher(s). Our staff is always happy to connect, provide context, and partner with you to support your child’s growth.

We are also in the midst of NYS testing season. While these assessments are just one piece of the puzzle, they do give us helpful information about how our students, and our school, are doing. More importantly, they provide a chance for students to practice something we value deeply at Sharon Springs: giving their best effort, even when something is challenging. That mindset goes a long way, far beyond any single test.

As we move through the “home stretch,” we know the warmer weather, longer days, and thoughts of summer can start to sneak in and compete for attention. (We feel it too!) That said, finishing strong matters. A few simple habits can make a big difference: getting a good night’s sleep, eating regular and healthy meals, and coming to school ready for the day. These small routines help set the stage for success.

Lastly, just a quick heads-up that we will continue conducting our required safety drills in accordance with our district safety plan. As always, these are done in a calm, supportive, and age-appropriate manner to ensure everyone knows what to do while keeping students at ease.

Thank you for your continued partnership, positivity, and support. Together, we’ll keep the momentum going and make this fourth quarter a strong and successful one!
