The SSCS Science Club took learning outdoors at Thacher State Park! Located along the Helderberg Escarpment, the park features towering limestone cliffs and fossils of ancient marine animals; clues to a time when this area was covered by a shallow sea. Its rock layers provide a fascinating window into Earth’s history (and the zipline made leveled up the fun)! Students enjoyed learning about this remarkable natural setting while connecting classroom science to the world around them. A big thank-you to Mr. Alex Yorke, Mr. Nick Barbara, and Mrs. Randi Korona for providing this opportunity for our students!
