In a heartwarming display of compassion and dedication, the members of the SSCS National Honor Society (NHS) have recently embarked on a remarkable initiative to support Ayres Animal Shelter. Combining their philanthropic efforts with their commitment to community service, these exceptional students actively collected donations from the 6-12 students and then volunteered their time at the shelter to help improve the lives of animals in need.

Through their invaluable contributions, they have not only demonstrated their passion for animal welfare but also embodied the core values of the NHS—scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS Co-Advisor, Mrs. Korona, said that the 9 NHS members who participated in the group community service project “were extremely responsible and professional throughout their performance of duties at Ayres.”
