Once again, for the 2024 – 2025 school year, school materials will be provided by Sharon Springs CSD. Through bulk purchasing and careful fiscal planning, our thoughtful Sharon Springs CSD Board of Education agreed that school supplies are part of the resources necessary to provide the conditions for each student to be successful!

If you or a family you know has needs beyond school materials, please reach out to Michelle Keaney (518 284-2266 or mkeaney@sharonsprings.org); she will confidentially and discreetly put you in contact with our generous Sharing and Caring program.

Have a wonderful summer!

Congratulations to Molly Parsons for winning the annual Sharon Springs School Spelling Bee on January 9. Ten students from grades 4-8 participated in the round-by-round “spell-off,” which is part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee and sponsored locally by the Sharon Springs Historical Society.

The spelling contest came down to Parsons and her fellow seventh grade classmate Maya Korona. The two went back and forth with Parsons spelling the words “plaza” and “rotten” back to back for the victory. With this win, Parsons will represent SSCS at the Capital District Regional Spelling Bee later this year.

Other student participants include Elijah Lasky and Madison Lynk (grade 8), Thomas Hemstock and Barrett Lynk (grade 6), Elizabeth Gokool and Ellie O’Connor (grade 5), and Hunter Armlin and Cole Ducharme (grade 4).

The 2024 SSCS Spelling Bee Advisor/Organizer was secondary English teacher Jennifer Field. Mr. Scimeca was the announcer and word pronouncer. Spelling Bee judges were Mr. Yorke, Mrs. Behr and Mrs. Law.
