PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
SSCS Families!
We are off to a great start this school year, and I want to thank our students, families, and staff for making the first few weeks so positive and productive.
One highlight has been the success of our new morning routines and updated breakfast menu. These changes have ensured that every student has access to breakfast while also reducing interruptions to instructional time—helping us start each day with focus and energy.
Safety continues to be a top priority at SSCS. We have already conducted three fire drills, and both students and staff have responded with excellence. Their cooperation and attentiveness have made these drills smooth and effective. We will continue practicing additional safety drills in the weeks ahead to ensure everyone is prepared for any situation.
I’d like to remind all students in grades 6–12 to charge their iPads daily and handle them with care. These devices are powerful learning tools that allow students to access resources, collaborate, and extend their learning opportunities. Taking responsibility for their care and readiness helps ensure success in the classroom.
Looking ahead, next week is School Spirit Week, leading up to our Homecoming celebrations on Friday and Saturday. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students, staff, and community to come together and show our school pride. In the spirit of this year’s theme, One Team, All In, we encourage everyone to participate and celebrate the unity that makes SSCS so special.
Together, these positive steps are setting the tone for a strong and successful school year.
Mr. Yorke, School Principal/Superintendent of Schools
