PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This is the last weekly bulletin for the 2024-25 school year. Have a wonderful summer and see you in September!

KEY DATES FOR REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
- The last full day of classes for students in grades 7–12 will be Monday, June 16th. This day will also serve as a make-up day for finals if needed.
- 6th grade students are required by NYS regulations to attend school through the last day of elementary school: Thursday, June 26th.
- From Tuesday, June 24th through Thursday, June 26th, all students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
2025 SHARON SPRING SUMMER REC PROGRAM BEGINS JULY 7th
The 6-week program for Grades K-6, runs Monday-Friday, 9AM-11:45AM, RAIN OR SHINE and offers a variety of activities, including swimming lessons. Children must have completed kindergarten and be fully potty trained in order to register.
- 1 Local Child $80 ($50-Grades 7-12)
- 1 Out of Town Child $100
- 2 Local Children $100
- 2 Out of Town Children $120
- Local Family Rate $120
- Out of Town Family Rate $140
Registration will take place at the Sharon Rec Center on Thursday, June 19th from 5PM-7PM and Saturday, June 28th from 1PM-3PM. Registration forms will be sent home with SSCS students and will be available at the Town of Sharon office during their business hours. The town pool will open for the season on Saturday, June 28th. We are open 7 days a week from 1PM-5PM weather permitting and do not require an entry fee.

SHARON SPRINGS FREE LIBRARY PRESENTS SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2025
Color Our World!
We’re thrilled to invite readers of all ages to join us for a summer of imagination, discovery, and fun through our 2025 Summer Reading Program: Color Our World! Registration opens Monday, July 7th
Participants will complete a Summer Reading Log to track their reading and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win exciting prizes at the end of the summer. Bonus tickets can also be earned by attending our special events and programs!
Save the Date: End-of-Summer Ice Cream Social
Wrap up the season with us on Friday, August 15th, as we partner with the Sharon Springs Youth Commission for an End of Summer Ice Cream Social to celebrate all our amazing readers! Follow us on Facebook for event reminders, reading recommendations, and updates throughout the summer!
SSCS CLAY TARGET TEAM
SSCS Clay Target Team is your New York State High School Clay Target League Class 2A Conference 6 Champions. They dominated the season and finished with a 7227.50 overall score.
The kids competed at states on June 7th in Cicero NY. Where kids placed in the Novice, JR Varsity and Varsity levels. With one team member being stuck in a six-way tie for overall 3rd place having an overall score of 97 out of 100, only to be knocked out by the reverse run score which is used to eliminate the tie.
We also had 11 kids qualify for Nationals with a 19 plus seasonal average. Their scores ranged from a 19.40 to 21.70
Now there will be a short two-month break and then in August sign-ups will begin for the Fall Season. Make sure to watch for postings on Facebook and in the paper.
If you would like to give trap a try there is a Summer League being held at Sprout Brook starting on June 22nd running every Sunday till August 10th from 9am to 2pm. It is $80.00 to join and if you are interested in joining the Summer League or would like more information please reach out to Amanda Bolster at 518-231-1801 or by email to Amanda.Bolster@yahoo.com.

SSCS will continue to produce this document each week as a service to the SSCS community. Similar to last year, classified ads, such as advertisements for the sale of items, help wanted ads, etc., will no longer be accepted. Advertisements will only be accepted if it relates to a potential educational benefit for our students or it has the potential to benefit the Sharon Springs community.
