PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

This Friday (Dec. 12) marks the midpoint of the second quarter, an important time for students and families to check in on academic progress. We encourage all parents and students in grades 6–12 to review current grades posted on Schoology. If you need help accessing your child’s account, please contact tyorke@sharonsprings.org for support.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please reach out directly to their teacher(s). We are here to partner with you and ensure every student finishes the quarter strong.

As we head into our final week before the holiday recess, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to our entire SSCS community. This time of year always brings a special kind of energy to our halls (joyful, busy, a little bit sparkly) and it’s a reminder of how fortunate we are to learn and work alongside one another.

To our students: thank you for your hard work, your kindness, and the spirit you bring to school each day. To our families: thank you for your partnership, support, and trust. And to our faculty and staff: your dedication continues to make SSCS a place where students feel known, supported, and challenged, every single day.

Let’s finish the final week prior to break strong, enjoy the celebrations and traditions that make this season meaningful, and look forward to a well-deserved holiday recess just around the corner. I’m grateful for all of you, and excited for the great things still ahead this year.

Principal Yorke

WINTER ICE SKATING AT BOWMAKER POND

The Sharon Youth Commission will be in charge of the ice hockey/skating area on Bowmaker Pond this winter and, as of now, it appears we might have a great season for skating. We will be checking the pond this weekend to assess the thickness of the ice. Updates on skating status will be provided on the SSCS and Youth Commission Facebook pages. If you have skates or equipment you would like to donate or share let us know (once we open we will also have a bin/plastic shed for you to leave them in as well). Also if you are willing to help keep the area clean after snow storms, please let us know. Contact Youth Commission President Dan Cornwell at (518) 852-4979.
