Five SSCS student athletes joined more than 200 of their peers, coaches and athletic directors for the Section IV Student Leadership and Sportsmanship Conference held Feb. 26 at the Binghamton Forum. Attending were Ava Jump, Tyler Lyon, Kaylee Crewell, Elijah Lasky and Maya Korona. The conference is hosted each year by the Section but is run by the student-athletes themselves. The conference focused on teamwork, sportsmanship, mental health, nutrition, and accountability. Student-athletes broke out in different sessions during the morning to share ideas on team bonding, team management and the pressures of being a student athlete. This year’s keynote speaker was Richard Jensen, author of “Be A Champion For Life.”
