SSCS kicked off Ag Literacy Week on March 23 with an inter-grade learning project between secondary students and second graders. Every year, New York Agriculture in the Classroom organizes this weeklong effort to educate students statewide about the importance of agriculture and opportunities for careers in the industry.

SSCS FFA members Alivia Smith, Madison Lynk and Maya Korona presented this year’s book “Seasons on the Farm” written by Chelsea Tornetto and illustrated by Karen Bunting. The book tells the story of life on the farm, all year round. On a farm, each season arrives with new jobs to do—crops to plant, animals to tend to, and fields to harvest. After hearing the book, the groups worked on a four seasons on the farm art project together.
