A Veterans salute from Sharon Springs Girl Scouts
SSCS held a special Morning Program on Nov. 7 to honor local veterans – family and loved ones of our SSCS students and staff – and veterans who could not attend.
The auditorium was filled with patriotic songs and dress, American flags, photos, a large military display and a special breakfast. Students wrote personal messages and made thank you cards for the veterans and introduced their military loved ones on stage. Thanks to the SSCS fifth grade band for performing, the Sharon Springs Girl Scouts troop for a patriotic tribute and teacher Samantha Holmes and her students for organizing the event.
As SSCS and the nation prepare to celebrate Veterans Day on Tuesday, our Spartan family this week recognized the character strength of Bravery. When we think of our veterans we have gratitude for their bravery and all of the sacrifices they made to defend and protect our country, freedom and our way of life.
