Members of the SSCS Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter headed to Fonda-Fultonville on Feb. 28 to attend an FFA Leadership Series called Ignite.
This conference drew more than 400 middle and high school students from all over the area. FFA is a youth organization that prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Spark is designed to engage younger members in learning about the many opportunities there are in FFA, evaluate their own personal skills and interests and set goals for their futures.
SSCS student attendees for 2026 were Tatianna Islip, Alivia Smith, Alyssa Smith and Colton Starr. Accompanying our students was SSCS FAA Advisor/Teacher Anne Allen. During the program, teachers explored the newly released National Program Benchmarks and conducted evaluations of their own agricultural education programs to determine current strengths and opportunities for growth.
