The SSCS FFA was excited to be a part of the 100th anniversary of the New York FFA at the State FFA Convention May 7-9 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
Joining more than 3,000 members and guests were SSCS student attendees Alyssa Smith, Madison Lynk, Sophia Insogna, Maya Korona and Hunter Bolster. Accompanying them was SSCS FAA Advisor/Teacher Anne Allen.
The girls participated in two events – Senior Quiz Bowl and Food Science competitions. The competitions were fierce featuring over 100 students at each event. Sophia also entered a digital scrapbook from the activities for this school year. Hunter competed in the Aquaculture Contest, served as our Chapter Delegate and brought items for the historical display of jackets and memorabilia.
In addition to these contests, members attended educational sessions, listened to renowned speakers, participated in other activities including a huge career expo and met up with friends from around the state. Members would like to thank everyone for their support this year and are setting goals for themselves for the years to come.
FFA is a youth organization that prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Way to go Spartans!
