Four members of the SSCS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter attended a Regional Competition and Conference at Bryant and Stratton College in Albany on Feb. 6 and came home winners.
The conference gave FBLA students the opportunity to attended various workshops related to goal setting, teamwork, delivering presentations, and building customer service skills. They also networked with competed against students from other schools in FBLA District 4.
SSCS captured the following awards at this winter conference:
- Ava Jump – First place in Job Interview
- Madison Lynk – First place in Introduction to Decision Making
- Devin Tissiere – Second place in Impromptu Speaking
- Maya Korona – Second place in Introduction to Public Speaking
Each of these students will now compete at the annual FBLA New York State Conference in Rochester in April with a chance to make it to Nationals held in San Antonio in June.
FBLA helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. New York State has a 170 FBLA chapters with student membership at 5,600.
