Our youngest Spartans – the Kindergarten class – would like to thank the Sharon Springs Fire Department for teaching them about fire safety as they celebrate October Fire Prevention Month. Throughout the month SSCS has sponsored educational lessons and activities in and outside the classroom to raise fire safety awareness among students and staff and help ensure our homes are safe and our families are protected. This initiative was highlighted October 17 with a Kindergarten visit to the firehouse and a chance to meet the firefighters, try on a uniform and fire helmet, sound the fire truck horn, spray a real fire hose and ride atop a fire truck back to school.
