SSCS fourth graders held their first full band rehearsal this week under the direction of instructor Max Horning. Learning to play a band instrument is a process at SSCS. In the third grade students try out and experiment with different instruments and choose one they like by the end of their third grade year. In the fall of their fourth grade year they begin small group lessons once every six days, learning instrument fundamentals. This week they started practicing as a full band for the first time. Now they will continue their lessons and band rehearsals until they perform as full fourth grade band at the Elementary Concert on Tuesday, May 20. See you there!
