SSCS STEAM Expo March 22nd 2018.

on March 23, 2018

On Thursday, March 22nd,  SSCS hosted its third annual STEAM Expo. More than 150  enthusiastic students presented their learning; students shared their passions for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) with the larger SSCS community.  Encouraged and supported by SCSSs teachers and support staff, parents, Board of Education members, and the administration, students shared work ranging from solar powered lights and working wind turbine models to first-grader-programed (and operated) robots to poster presentations about issues ranging from current events to the history and science of sugar. Because of the generous donations by the Sharon Springs Central School District’s Teacher Association, Sterling Insurance, and R.L. Parson’s Inc. each participant was provided a poster board, a student-designed tee shirt, and snacks. Overall, these eclectic exhibits provided an opportunity for students to support each other’s learning and demonstrated the solidary of an entire learning community.
