NHS Food Drive to Benefit Local Families

on May 20, 2019

The food drive organized by our SSCS National Honor Society exemplified the BIG HEART of our students, community and educators! The “other people matter mindset” was on full display and greatly appreciated! Thank you to all who supported this opportunity to be generous, by encouraging our kids to consider their neighbors’ needs.

In total there were well over 350 items delivered today. Pauline Brown, the Sharon Springs food pantry coordinator expressed her appreciation profusely.

Additionally, even though Mrs. Jones expressed to her class the concept of charity is not to “win ice cream” but to give selflessly, it was Mrs. Jones’ class who donated the most items per student with a total 164 items. (With that said, Mrs. Letteron and I will be reaching out next week to ensure these students are given a token of our appreciation).
