Information for week of May 17, 2010
We will be learning how to touch type, increase our speed and accuracy, and correct formatting for letters and reports, along with correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
We will learn four new keys: "Q" ,"Comma" "V" and "Colon".
We will practice the formatting for a Professional Business Letter with a test on Friday.
We will increase our accuracy and speed in keyboarding.

This year we will be studying Personal and Business Finance. There is homework every night except for Friday. There will be a mid-term and final exam.
We will continue Chapter 14 "Manufacturing Costs" with a test on Friday.
There is homework every night.
This year we will be studying physical and mental health. There will be small research papers due every six weeks, a mid-term exam, and a final 7-10 page paper. There will be no final exam.
We will continue Chapter 25"STD's".
Your Final Paper is due on May 17.
Grade 8 Family & Consumer Science
This is a 1/2 year course. There will be a final exam. We will be studying Career Exploration, Sewing and Cooking/Nutrition/Exercise.
We will be starting Chapter 31 "Product Labeling".
We will make Tea Sandwiches for the Learning Expo.
There is a Chapter 30 & 31 vocabulary quiz on Wednesday.
We will watch two videos "Enviro Exercise" and "Reading Food Labels".
Grade 7 Family & Consumer Science
This is a 1/2 year course. We will be studying Character, Bullying, Respect, Sewing, Cooking/Nutrition/Exercise. There will be a final exam.
We will continue Chapter 10 "Conflict Resolution".
We will watch several videos during the week on Communication and Conflict.
We will make Fruit and Vegetable Platters for the Learning Expo.
"Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor
Along with my co-advisor, Mrs. Handy, we organize Middle School and High School FBLA events.
Middle School students work at the school store on Tuesday and Friday during lunch to raise money for their trips.
Fundraising, pie and cookie dough sales was held in October. Delivery was before Thanksgiving.
High School students participated in the Fall and Spring District Meetings.
We attended the 2009 Fall District Meeting in Albany with 200 other students from the Capital District. We participated in several leadership workshops.
The Spring State Leadership Conference will be held at the Rochester Convention Center, Rochester, New York, in April 2010.
The FBLA Middle School sponsored a Spring trip. It was scheduled for Friday May 14, 2010. We went to the Capital District to ride and tour on the Albany AquaDucks. After a delicious lunch at the historic Jack's Oyster House, we went to the Schenectady Museum. After touring the museum, we watched the current night sky at the Planetarium. A special treat was watching the shuttle Atlantis take off live at 2:20. All students were very well behaved and had a great time.
