Welcome to our classroom!

Hello, I am a first year teacher at Sharon Springs Central School.  I received my Bachelors degree at SUNY New Paltz in May 2006 and spent a year substituting at Sharon Springs where I had the honor of getting to know most of the students at SSCS.  I am currently working toward my Masters degree at SUNY Albany for Special Education - Inclusion. 

Teaching is my hobby and my passion and I am thrilled to be working with the first grade this year!  I use many teaching methods/strategies in teaching to engage my students in learning and make it an interactive process.  I enjoy using kinesthetic strategies along with visual and auditory teaching methods to ensure all of my students success.

HOMEWORK

 

 

 

Students will have spelling homework and math homework Monday through Thursday usually.  The spelling words will be sent home every Friday on the back of the newsletter for the following week.  Spelling homework is as follows:

    Monday - Words 1-6 three times each

    Tuesday - Words 7-10 five times each

    Wednesday - Choose 5 words and make 5 sentences

    Thursday - Have someone at home give you a pretest
